With his DMK coasting towards victory in the 2021 Tamil Nadu assembly polls on its own as it leads in 119 seats and allies further beef up the tally, party President M.K. Stalin on Sunday said “a new chapter is set to begin in the organisation’s history”.

In a statement issued here, Stalin also said that going by the leading position of the DMK-led alliance in majority of the constituencies, it is clear that the party will form the next government.

Amid celebration gatherings being witnessed in Tamil Nadu, the Election Commission of India told ANI,”Respective State Chief Secretaries have been asked to take immediate action to stop such gatherings.”

In the Thousand Lights constituency, DMK was leading at end of the second round of voting.

DMK is leading in 24 seats and AIADMK on 23 seats, states the latest ECI trends.

In the Aravakurichi constituency, DMK is leading by 200 votes while State BJP vice president and former IPS officer Annamalai is trailing.
